Promoting Women Entrepreneurs with Disabilities in Bangladesh: The Role of Media

On Wednesday, August 31, 2022, Access Bangladesh Foundation, with the support of EMK Center, organized a virtual discussion titled ‘Promotion of Women Entrepreneurs with Disabilities: The Role of Media.’

Ms. Mohua Paul, Co-Founder and Chairperson of Access Bangladesh Foundation hosted the program whereas Mr. Albert Mollah, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Access Bangladesh moderated the webinar. Ms. Farida Yasmin, President, National Press Club was the chief guest of the program.

Ms. Shahnaz Sharmeen, Joint Secretary of Dhaka Reporters Unity, Mr. Khairuzzaman Kamal, Secretary General, Bangladesh Manobadhikar Sangbadik Forum (BMSF) and Aisha Siddiquaa, representative of EMK Center also attended the program as a special guest.

In the open discussion, 5 women entrepreneurs with disabilities shared their stories of courage, and obstacles to doing business. They requested to publish their stories more often on the mainstream media platforms so that government and other agencies would come forward to grow their enterprises.
